My name is Simon which, my parents told me, means “snubnose”. So Snubsta was born.

As a child, I loved nature. I fed the birds and learned the names of flowers. I spent time in forests, fields and marshes. And when I noticed interesting things, I brought them home to my museum in my bedroom.

Fast forward 50 years, and I began to remember the things I loved as a child. So I asked: how could I recreate that childhood sense of awe? How could I notice the small things and the beautiful things?

Snubsta is about seeing the wonderful things . . . and realizing all the wonderful things are made of what feels like love.

My art distills this sense of wonder and love into simple images and profound meditations. When you sit still long enough, you find access to the heart is simple – and joyful.
